We'll be adding more Q and A's to this entry as we come across them in our collection. Q. How can I make a high pompadour stay in place? The hair seems to buckle when combed high, and the waves do not remain smooth. A. To give the required body to such a pompadour, comb the hair forward from a crown part to form the under layers of the pompadour. This will give a firm foundation for the hair which is combed up from the hairline. Q. How is an under-roll made? I have in mind a roll of hair across the forehead, in the form of a bang, but without any waves. A. A rolled bang across the forehead, without waves, may be formed by rolling the hair on curlers or by means of pin curls. The top layer of hair forming the roll should be as long as the under layers. When the hair has already been tapered for a different type of bang, with the top layers shorter, short tips of the hair will protrude from the roll and spoil the smooth effect. Part off the section of the hair which is to be included in the bang. To avoid waves, if you are using pin curls, leave long stems on the rows of curls farthest from the forehead (instead of winding them to the scalp) . In arranging the hair, comb it over the hand and spread it out with the fingers.
